So, when Sesame was asked by his Hollywood friends to partake in a review of the latest diet craze in Hollywood, he did not need to lick his lips twice.

Diana’s Famous Citrus Tini Cocktails

Healthier homemade Martinis

Fresh fruit can turn an ordinary adult beverage into a tasty drink worthy of calling a snack–even a healthy Round snack–okay let’s call it healthier–after all liqueur is not really considered healthy.

That is why it is good to know that it is what you do most of the time, not some of the time that matters most.

And now for the recipes

Enjoy the Round Lady’s original fruity cocktails, as  shown in the latest  Citrus-Tini’s — refreshingly tasty video.

Tangerine Citrus-Tini

(Serves two)

2 tangerines
1 orange
1 Meyers lemon (orange variety (or use an extra tangerine)
1/4 pear
2 ounces vodka
1 sprig fresh mint leaves

Squeeze juice from 2 tangerines, 1 orange and 1 orange Meyers lemon (or use an extra tangerine). Add ice in shaker, 3/4 full, then add juice, and vodka. Shake mixture, put 3 pear strips in each chilled martini glasses, and pour drink. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately.

For a taller, more fruity single version of the Citrus-Tini, double the citrus, omit one ounce of vodka, pour into a bigger glass, and double up the pear strips.

Big Tequila tangerine Citrus-Tini

(Serves one)

This drink is for tequila lovers. As with the vodka version, you can make a taller drink by doubling the citrus, omitting one ounce of tequila, pouring into a bigger glass, and doubling up the pear strips.

2 tangerines
1 orange
1 lime
1/3 to 1/2 pear
2 ounces tequila
1 sprig fresh mint leaves

Squeeze juice from 2 tangerines, 1 orange and 1 lime. Add ice in shaker, 3/4 full, then add juice, and tequila. Shake mixture, add 5 to 7 pear strips in chilled wine glass, and pour drink. Optional: add ice to drink. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately.

Note: Drink responsibly and do not drive after imbibing on any alcoholic beverage–meaning do not drive even after enjoying one Citrus-Tini!

Supercharge Your Nutrition With Food Combining

Healthier Food through Togetherness

Combining certain foods is part of the new healthy food frontier. The future of healthy eating is all about creating your own meals and veering away from fat-inducing, disease-thwarting habits to make sure that you do not become one of the 50% of the human race who will obese with diabetes by the year 2030.

Nature is super smart and makes sure that foods with synergistic nutrients taste yummy together. Here are a few foods to eat together that become more nutritious and delicious when eaten together.

Combine Tomato with Avocado

Tomatoes and avocados make for a favorite fresh combination. Both are carotenoids, also known as cancer-fighting, cardiovascular-enhancing antioxidants.  The fat in avocados make the nutrients in tomatoes more powerful in your body.

Mix Blueberries with Grapes

Turns out that eating a blueberry with a grape is more powerful than eating just one or the other by itself. Together they blend into a super antioxidant, more nutritious and powerful than any one fruit and smarter than any vitamin. We humans are just not all-knowing enough to decipher every synergistic compound that nature cleverly designed into fruits–or vegetables.

As humans, we need to eat a mix of fruits and vegetables for awesome health. The magic number to eat is between 5 and 10 servings every day, and that includes Sundays and days when cravings for fatty, salty, sugary treats become a constant yummy hum inside your head.

Enjoy an Apple Chocolate Union

Apples are one of nature’s most scrumptious sweet crunchy desserts. They also happen to be filled with healthy anti-inflammatory flavonoids capable of a plethora of disease-fighting properties.

Chocolate is at the top of nature’s most beloved, intoxicating, flavonoid-antioxidant-filled foods, also known for unparalleled healthy romantic side effects. So it makes sense to marry apples with chocolate to bring to life one of nature’s most powerful unions. When eaten together, apples and chocolate morph into a super satisfying cardiovascular boost for your entire body and love life. So plan your life accordingly.

Fuse Kale with Lemon

If kale signed up for online dating, you c an be sure that meeting up with lemon would be a match made in healthy heaven. Kale’s plant-based iron personality makes for the perfect hook up with lemon’s natural vitamin C brightness. Once they kiss and seal the deal, kale’s iron would immediately send oxygen through every blood cell, all while inspiring their immune systems to greatness, and turning their every muscle into a bundle of energy and strength. Sexy!

TIP: Try Kale Chips, a favorite new snack making headlines in kitchens around the world. Remove stems off one bunch of kale, wash and thoroughly dry. Spray baking sheet with olive oil and spread out kale, sprinkle with garlic salt and shredded Parmesan Reggiano cheese. bake at 250 for 20 minutes.
